Gazprom's Lakhta Center
Foundation of Europe's highest skyscraper currently under construction in Russia's St Petersburg has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the largest continuous concrete pour.
The construction of the tower called Lakhta Center began in 2014. It will house the headquarters of Russian state gas monopoly Gazprom and is expected to be completed by 2018. The total area of the building will be 400,000 square meters.The head of the company overseeing construction of the complex reportedly said that each square meter is expected to cost up to USD 3,500. The overall project is estimated to be worth several billion dollars.
